Finlayson Sweater
Thread Theory Designs

$20.00 each

This sweater is a grown up version of the classic hoodie.  It will be a wardrobe staple due to its cozy boxy shape and hard wearing cuffed hems, but there is no worry of looking like a slob while wearing it!

Both versions contain stylish features that elevate it beyond pure utilitarianism:  Variation 1 features a unique squared neckline and a stylish shawl collar. It also includes an optional neckline facing that can be used to feature contrast fabrics as a finishing touch to the garment interior.  Variation 2 includes a roomy lined hood that crosses over at the front to join to the squared neckline as well as the classic kangaroo pocket to protect hands from the elements.

The Finlayson Sweater, as part of the “Alpine Outdoors Collection” by Thread Theory Designs, is a hard-wearing design with a classic fit.  Create a hand-made wardrobe of these designs so as to always be comfortably and stylishly ready for the next adventure!

The pattern envelope contains a tissue copy of the pattern in sizes XS to XXL, an 16 page staple bound illustrated instruction booklet that lays flat while sewing, an embroidered Thread Theory garment tag, and a chip board pattern folder with string closure, which is simple to use and sturdy enough to store your patterns for years to come.

Thread Theory Designs is a Canadian pattern company, and was launched in 2012 by Morgan and Matt Meredith with the aim to bring menswear to the forefront of the DIY fashion movement.

What else do I need?

Fabric recommendations: medium weight knit fabrics or fleeces, such as ITY, French terry, jersey, cotton or wool fleece, or wool blend knits. Stable knits or fleece with minimal stretch will work for the body of the sweater, but fabrics with stretch and recovery are recommended for the cuffs and hem band.

*See gallery image for fabric amount requirements based on size choice. Optional contrast facing/hood requirements also listed. Additional fabric may be required to match stripes, plaids, or using border prints.
