The Carmanah Sweater by Thread Theory Designs is a true classic in the casual activewear wardrobe.  This zippered sweater features style details that elevate it from pure utilitarian comfort to both stylish and practical.  The large shoulder yoke on front and back is the perfect canvas for a contrast texture or colour.  Choose from a partial or full zipper and a collar or lined three piece hood for a wide range of mix-and-match styling possibilities.  Add or leave off the roomy kangaroo pockets.

Instructions include high-end construction suggestions such as an attractive twill tape neckline seam finish and a lined hood.  Details on how to successfully apply a zipper to stretchy knit fabric without ripples are also included.

The Carmanah Sweater, as part of the “Alpine Outdoors Collection” by Thread Theory Designs, is a hard-wearing design with a classic fit.  Create a hand-made wardrobe of these designs so as to always be comfortably and stylishly ready for the next adventure!

The pattern envelope contains a tissue copy of the pattern in sizes XS to 4XL, an 23 page staple bound illustrated instruction booklet that lays flat while sewing, an embroidered Thread Theory garment tag, and a chip board pattern folder with string closure, which is simple to use and sturdy enough to store your patterns for years to come.

What else do I need?

Fabric recommendations: sweatshirt knit fabrics or fleeces, such as French terry, micro or polar fleeces, boiled wool, or wool blends. 10% stretch is recommended, but fabrics with a large amount of stretch, like ribbed knits, will make this sweater more difficult to sew. If choosing to color block this sweater, choose knit fabrics that have similar weight and stretch.

*See gallery image for fabric amount requirements based on size choice. Optional contrast collar/hood requirements also listed. Additional fabric may be required to match stripes, plaids, or using border prints.
